This tutorial is partof the 2016 OHDSI Symposium. It will take place on Saturday, September 24th at the Washington Hilton in Washington DC.

Learning objectives and technical competencies:

  • Learn the OMOP CDM v5 community standard (data structure, content, conventions)
  • Design an ETL specification using WhiteRabbit
  • Build a OMOP CDM database in a RDBMS
  • Evaluate data quality using ACHILLES

Pre-requisites:

  • Knowledge of relational database schemas
  • Laptop, ability to download and install Java application (for WhiteRabbit), install R (for ACHILLES)
  • For hands-on exercise:
    • 1) Download SYNPUF data and load into local PostgresQL database
    • or 2) have access to a different source data in RDBMS or csv format
