====== Early Treatment Pathways in Chronic Disease ====== **Objective:** The objective of this study is to characterize the prevalence of different treatment pathways within the first year of drug initiation for three chronic diseases: Hypertension, Type II Diabetes, and Depression. **Rationale:** While numerous treatment guidelines exist for chronic conditions, there is a paucity of data on the real-world treatment pathways. A recent OHDSI study explored treatment pathways for chronic conditions based on 3 years of drug exposure. Additional interest exists for looking at treatment in the early phases of a disease, where switching may often occur. Additionally, focusing the analysis on a narrower timeframe post-initiation will increase the number of eligible patients and potentially provide additional insight into these pathways. **Project Leads:** Jon Duke, Patrick Ryan, Richard Boyce, [others please add if interested] **Coordinating Institution(s):** Regenstrief Institute, University of Pittsburgh, Janssen ** Additional Participants:** **Full Protocol:** Pending **Initial Proposal Date:** Pending **Launch Date:** Pending **Study Closure Date:** Pending **Results Submission:** Email or SFTP ===== Requirements ===== **CDM:** V4 or V5 **Database Dialect:** SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle **Software:** SQL as above, R (optional) ===== Code ===== https://github.com/OHDSI/StudyProtocols ===== Discussion ===== Treatment Pathways Discussion Thread ===== Datasets Run ===== ~~NOTOC~~
