OHDSI’s mission is to improve health, by empowering a community to collaboratively generate the evidence that promotes better health decisions and better care. We envision a world in which observational research produces a comprehensive understanding of health and disease. To achieve this goal, the OHDSI team has formed a multi-stakeholder, interdisciplinary collaborative which aims to bring out the value of health data through large-scale analytics and open-source software tools. OHDSI has established a global community of observational health researchers and a research network covering over 600 million patients.
OHDSI’s achievements to date would not be possible if not for the hard work of our growing community members. Our annual collaborator showcase provides collaborators the opportunity to showcase their tremendous work.
Once again we’ll be inviting collaborators to participate in the collaborator showcase. Collaborators will have the opportunity to submit abstracts for poster presentations, software demonstrations and oral presentations.
Only one abstract needs to be submitted for each research topic. Before uploading the abstract, you will be asked to indicate the format(s) that you would like to use for your presentation. You can select more than one.
- Poster: a poster-board to present a static display summary of your latest research.
- Software Demonstration: a table with screen/monitor to provide interactive display of open-source analytics.
- Oral Presentation: a 7-minute podium presentation to verbally share your story with the community.
Abstract submissions are due no later than 5pm on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.
Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the OHDSI Symposium Organizing Committee, and selected for presentation by September 10, 2018. Those collaborators will then showcase their work at the OHDSI Symposium on Friday, October 12, 2018.

– Observational data standards and management
– Methodological research
– Open-source analytics development
– Clinical research from OHDSI’s analytic use cases:
– Clinical characterization
– Population-level estimation
– Patient-level prediction
ACCEPTED ABSTRACTS:
For accepted posters, a horizontal-orientation poster, 48″ x 36″ is the maximum size. A poster template is available here (use of the poster template is optional). They will be presented on cork, poster-boards so please do not mount your poster on foam core.
For accepted software demonstrations, a table and monitor will be provided for you at the symposium.
For accepted oral presentations, a planning committee member will be in contact with you for further instruction after Sept. 10th.
