Christophe G. Lambert received his PhD in Computer Science from Duke University in 1997. In 2014, following a faculty appointment at Montana State University and nearly 15 years as CEO of the bioinformatics company Golden Helix, he joined the University of New Mexico. He is currently a faculty member in the Division of Translational Informatics, and Department of Internal Medicine, with secondary appointments in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Department of Computer Science. He also serves as the Informatics Core Lead for the UNM Southwest Center for Advancing Clinical & Translational Innovation (SW CACTI).
Dr. Lambert’s research integrates clinical research informatics, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, and systems thinking to analyze longitudinal healthcare data for predictive and preventative medicine. As a long-time collaborator with OHDSI, he develops statistical and computational tools to evaluate treatment options and health outcomes in mental illness, including bipolar disorder, major depression, PTSD, and suicidality. His work has been supported by PCORI and NIH awards, including recent grants to investigate unrecorded PTSD and co-occurring mental health conditions. His efforts are informed by systems thinking disciplines such as Theory of Constraints, System Dynamics, and Cybernetics.
