Kristin Kostka, MPH
Associate Director, OMOP Data Network – Americas
Kristin is an Associate Director running the OMOP Data Network at IQVIA. Her day job is centered around driving more participation in open network research in the US, Canada and Latin America. Kristin’s team assists sites in their OMOP CDM development including providing guidance on mapping standards, vocabulary mapping, orienting sites on ETL tools available in the OHDSI community and education of ETL best practices. She is an active OHDSI tutorial lead, regularly traveling to sites to train community researchers on the OHDSI tool stack and the OHDSI methods library.
Kristin has a decade of hands-on time in the trenches of healthcare and life sciences leading real world evidence generation studies, designing and implementing enterprise data lakes, conducting large-scale multinational clinical trials and preparing regularly submissions. Prior to joining IQVIA in February 2019, she was mostly recently a Data Science Lead for ConvergeHEALTH, a division of Deloitte Consulting.
Within OHDSI, Kristin sits on the OHDSI Steering Committee, the US Symposium Scientific Committee, the Women of OHDSI group, the OHDSI Study Nurture Committee and regularly leads OHDSI network studies. Kristin co-authored three chapters of the Book of OHDSI [book.ohdsi.org] (Where to Begin, Building Cohorts and OHDSI Network Research). Her OHDSI passion project is the idea of “studies on studies” — evaluating the best way to disseminate evidence once its generated.
Kristin is a recipient of many industry awards including: the 2018 OHDSI Titan Award in Community Collaboration, a 3- time recipient of Deloitte Outstanding Performance Award and an 8-time recipient of the Deloitte Applause Award for exceptional client service. Kristin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Elon University and a Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology from Boston University School of Public Health.
