Avnish Katoch is Core- Staff Associate Director for Informatics Core at PSU CTSI. He has extensive experience in healthcare, academic research, and large-scale data and AI initiatives. He leads and supports numerous multi-institutional initiatives, including the implementation of national research networks and platforms such as OMOP-based data models, clinical research collaboratives, and AI-enabled analytics environments. He works closely with researchers, clinicians, data scientists, IT teams, legal and compliance offices, and Institutional Review Boards to ensure that research efforts are both innovative and compliant with regulatory and ethical standards. He has contributed to the training and enablement of hundreds of faculties, staff, and students, directly supporting peer-reviewed publications, grant development, and collaborative research at national scale. He has a strong interest in advancing responsible use of artificial intelligence in biomedical research and in developing educational pathways that help scientists and clinicians effectively leverage AI tools.
