Cameron is a medical student at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons where he plans to pursue a surgical residency after completion of his M.D. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received his Bachelors in Science-Business where he was also a quarterback and running back on the varsity football team. Cameron’s research interests sit at the intersection of surgery and informatics, specifically surrounding topics of health services, economics, policy, and clinical outcomes within domains of solid-organ transplant, neurologic, and complex abdominal wall surgery. Cameron is also interested in ontology development for surgical workflows to further support interoperability and utilization of CDMs like OMOP. His previous and ongoing work includes utilizing the OMOP CDM to phenotype patients with drug-resistant and newly diagnosed epilepsy and OMOP expansion to accommodate CDMs in clinical outcomes research within solid-organ transplantation.
